I took the test and breezed through it as I have been doing the Membership Records for 7 years. The 1 thing new that I did learn was the difference between Associate & Affiliate members. I felt that this training really didn't cover the complex details of keeping membership records. There are churches who are still using the "old" system with the books and those of us using computer databases, everyone needs to know that the principles are the same. Thank you for this training as it is a start for what's to come.

I love the layout and ease of use as well as the method behind these training modules. However, in the case of the membership secretary training, it barely covers the basics. Here are some ideas for making the training more useful: 1. Explain the various membership statuses. 2. Give guidance for converting membership roles from the "old" statuses to the "new" statuses. Many churches have not done this conversion yet because it's so unclear. 3. It would help new secretaries, if you could show samples of transfer letters and certificates as well as samples of the various record-keeping methods. 4. You could provide more information about the membership audit and show examples of follow-up letters or phone scripts to be used in the audit. 5. Explain how and why members are removed at charge conferences. Thanks for your time on this, I'm excited that the conference is providing these training modules, it'll just take a little time to smooth out the kinks.
